About Josh Keidan

Josh Keidan has spent years investing himself in the beauty of the arts. As an educator, writer, and public speaker, Josh is passionate about stretching his mind and honing his skills as a communicator.

Josh Keidan holds a PhD in Education at The University of Toledo (May 2020). His dissertation was entitled Learning, Improvisation, and Identity Expansion in Innovative Organizations (it can be found here: https://etd.ohiolink.edu/apexprod/rws_etd/send_file/send?accession=toledo1586874155982614&disposition=attachment). He looked at high-performing organizations (businesses, religious organizations and non-profits) to understand how they create exceptional learning cultures.

From an outpouring of his love for the arts, self-expression, and communication, Josh Keidan is also an avid musician and improv comic. His comedy has led him to join groups and lead workshops at Unfiltered Improv and Glass City. In addition, he has served as the Improv Coach for The University of Toledo’s Improv Acting Club.

Outside of his work, Josh Keidan enjoys researching the intricacies of our world’s social structures. As a former Peace Corp volunteer, Josh has seen first-hand the implications of clinging too tightly to outdated and harmful worldviews simply because they are considered the standard. Recently, Josh presented at a Peace Studies conference, where he dove into the topics of direct, structural, and cultural violence, and how figures in popular culture — specifically characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — combat those forces and uphold the status quo.
